Project Description

Project: Coca Cola World Headquarters – Phase 1B
Contractor: Builders 2020
Owner: The Coca-Cola Company
Location: Atlanta, GA

Over the course of the next few years Coca-Cola will be rolling out a construction and redesign project to update its outdated campuses. A major goal of the renovation project, which is headed by Workplace 2020, is to make better use of the company’s lawns, lobbies, cafeterias, auditoriums and conference rooms. The Atlanta campus spreads across more than 30 acres and 2 million square feet of building space.

Phase 1B specifically had Sinclair Construction in the USA Building on campus. Work included foundation demo for footings needed under new columns, slab on grade, and slab on metal deck that sloped and depressed in some areas. Additional work included miscellaneous fill-ins and equipment pads. Sinclair can also be credited with the construction of the ‘Brand Staircase’ which can be seen in the Mainstreet video link below. Access to the interior of the building remained an obstacle but with our team of seasoned and creative experts in the field, we were able to construct a fully custom designed and built material chute that allowed for stone to be passed between floors easily.

The general contracting team is made up of Balfour Beatty Construction, New South Construction and Leapley Construction. That team is known as Builders 2020.

Project Description

Project:  Atlanta Botanical Gardens
Contractor:  New South Construction
Owner: Atlanta Botanical Gardens
Location:  Atlanta, GA

Construction for a new Café building and addition to the existing Garden House Office is all part of a multimillion dollar revamp project entitled “Nourish and Flourish”.   Since its’ incorporation in 1976, the Atlanta Botanical Garden has undergone many expansions and added attractions for the entire family.

New South contracted with Sinclair Construction Group for a turn-key concrete package including layout, shallow foundations, concrete walls, slab on grade, spread footings, turndowns, place and finish, slab on metal deck, pan -filled stairs, elevator pit, piers and curbs. Use of conveyor trucks and boom pumps were critical due to lack of space and access.

The mission of the Atlanta Botanical Garden as a non-profit is to develop and maintain plant collections for display, education, research, conservation and enjoyment.
